Fed to the rules Edit

Is "Fed to the rules" some kind of slang? I've always heard those lines as "Read through the rules", meaning the singer skimmed through the rules, then hurried to get on his way ("hit the ground runnin'"). Unless "fed to" is slang, "read through" makes more sense in context. —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 03:07, October 7, 2014 (UTC)

After listening to the song again, it does sound like he's saying "Fed to the rules". I still don't understand what that means, though, especially since the other would make more sense. Can someone please explain this? —RRabbit42 (leave a message) 02:34, November 2, 2014 (UTC)
