Getting a little sick of this case-sensitive business

When is LyricWiki going to catch up to the rest of the internet and do away with this? MaximCHS 13:27, October 21, 2009 (UTC)

Copying disabled

Why is this? This site began by copying hundreds of thousands of song lyrics from other sites. Song lyrics I have added were found on other sites, none of which disabled copying. None of the lyrics belong to this site, it's creators, or wikia. --A1th 21:00, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

I understand this is part of the new legal agreement with the copyright holders, but it really doesn't make any sense. As long as the general public is able to edit lyrics, there will be the ability to copy text. Failing that, most browsers have the ability to View Source in a text editor. The only way to get around these loopholes would be to convert the entire site to a flash-based monstrosity, in which case my days here are over. --Phreakydancin 19:18, November 5, 2009 (UTC)

You can bypass this by installing the Stylish Firefox extension and creating a style with the following rule:
@-moz-document domain("") {
 div.lyricbox { -moz-user-select: inherit !important; }

My browser doesn't recognize the automatically generated css version or user JS but thanks anyway.

I have a question about LYRIC-Caira. I was long not here. And today I wanted to add some new song lyrics and I saw that there never is my name on the version pages. There is always written the name LYRIC-Caira at all things which I have edited. And now I want to ask what LYRIC-Caira is? (I´m sorry for my english)

All of my contributions (as well as some contributions by other users) are credited to LYRIC-Toudidel. I think someone hacked this wiki. Onlycrazy! 09:48, September 20, 2009 (UTC)

Ah ok. I thank you for the explanation. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Optikus (talkcontribs), 11:19, 20 September 2009.

Search bar

What's with the search bar? i can't search for the song i want and go directly to the page, I've tried every variation of the song i know, and it's the same for every song on here. I have to go into the band's page and search thousands of songs until i find the right one. what the crap? get a new search bar or make it so people can actually use the thing! — The preceding unsigned comment was added by (talk), 17:19, 6 September 2009.

Yes, both the left-hand search box and the [Advanced Search] button are terrible. In LyricWiki talk:Wikia Migration FAQ#Search function? I mentioned that searching for "Love Me Do" gives nothing or crap, even "Beatles:Love Me Do" doesn't work. You have to include "The" (Beatles), at which point why bother searching, just guess at the exact URL for Artist Name:Song Title  ?!?!! -- Skierpage 09:49, September 13, 2009 (UTC)

I Thought

I Thought that there was actually a forum. Ok, anyway, I also have trouble with the search bar, before moving to wikia. What I do is search for the group, then with the search bar of Firefox (CTRL + F) I search for the song. It's not that slowly... until we can have an indexed search engine.

Another solution would be search in google with " the show must go on" for example. Gaston senac 21:28, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia links

What's up with the songs that have Wikipedia links all linking to nonexistent pages? For example, the Nirvana song Smells Like Teen Spirit has a link to All songs I checked with Wikipedia links have this /lyrics part that messes up the URL. Jpvinall 22:35, September 7, 2009 (UTC)

All (or at least nearly all) templates which link to Wikipedia have been fixed; if a link still includes the "lyrics/" bit it's probably because you're seeing a cached version of a page. You can force a rebuild by entering edit mode and immediately saving without actually changing anything. — 6×9 (Talk) 05:05, September 8, 2009 (UTC)

All links in "wikia MUSIC v" dropdown are broken

This is the badge at the top left. E.g. "Yes" goes to , a 404. There is a wiki for the band at , so presumably the interwiki prefix setup is messed up -- Skierpage 09:53, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
