Batch move funk
Warning: preg_match() [function.preg-match]: Unknown modifier 'K' in /var/www/html/lyricwiki.org/includes/EditPage.php on line 1055 when batch move operation is complete I get multiple instance of the above error on the page, but the move is successful. akuma in SongFooter
Is it really wise? I just noticed that the link for Van Morrison returns a 404 (though he's still in their index). A dead link is quickly removed from a single ArtistFooter, but if the same link is in hundreds of SongFooters, we'd need to call the Bots each time. Unless this makes us enough money to be worth that… — 6×9 (Talk) 18:11, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- That looks like it's probably a bug on their end (it seems unlikely that they'd want Van Morrison to be a 404). I just sent Dirk (guy from Akuma) an email & we'll see what's up. Thanks for the head's-up.
- -Sean Colombo (talk|contribs) 18:17, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
- I changed the akuma bit in SongFooter so it only needs the artist ID, not the full URL (i.e. 148537-peter-hammill instead of http://www.akuma.de/mp3artist/148537-peter-hammill.html), so you might want to update ÜB. (The old format still works, though.) — 6×9 (Talk) 16:59, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Any word back on this yet? I'm still getting 404's when searching Pink Floyd, and have been holding off from "goldifying" songs to see if this gets fixed. --WillMak050389 00:41, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- No word yet. I sent them another message now & mentioned Pink Floyd and that the problem seems fairly widespread. -Sean Colombo (talk|contribs) 00:50, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- Heard back from them. They had to delete a bunch of artists due to a contract change, but will be getting most of those artists back (with a different ID though) and a bunch more also. Long story short: any 404ed links can be deleted.
- Sorry for the hassle!

- I think this was related to the spam filter mess-up also. Again, hard to know with a database that's trailing behind. That should be fixed tonight (just gonna turn something off that I really don't need too much).

Batch Move again
is it looking like I'm a PITA? batch move is now totally broke, doesn't move anything but it says it did, all destination pages remain redlinked. ∃cho⚡ierr∀ ( ☏ • ⎋ • ⌫) 13:29, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- That happened to me yesterday – the pages were eventually moved. Check again in a couple of minutes. (Looks like the servers take some time to catch up, or something…) — 6×9 (Talk) 13:35, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- done that, no cigar. see songs of Пилот, weren't moved to Пилот (Pilot), but I updated the artist page anyway. ∃cho⚡ierr∀ ( ☏ • ⎋ • ⌫) 13:41, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- They're moved now. Did you do that manually, or did it actually just catch up? I'm working to make it so it doesn't get behind...
- -Sean Colombo (talk|contribs) 18:49, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- I moved them again, using batch move. The first attempt that I reported was a total failure. ∃cho⚡ierr∀ ( ☏ • ⎋ • ⌫) 18:52, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting. My guess would be that this move tried to happen when I had the spam filter accidentally catching EVERYTHING (which I fixed a few minutes after one of the messages I got today... don't remember which) which would cause all of the moves to be spamfiltered out, I think. I'm going to assume that was the problem since I haven't changed anything since then. If BatchMove messes up again, please let me know.

SOTD May 03, 2009
Hi User:Sean Colombo! I'm just here to tell you that your nomination of Queen:We Are The Champions has won Song of the Day for May 03, 2009!
Thanks for nominating a song and for contributing to LyricWiki!
-ÜberBot 07:00, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nominating songs that had already been SotD, removing ArtistHeaders from pages… are you feeling well? :-) — 6×9 (Talk) 13:14, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Nom was intentional (a couple others duped up. We had a convo a looong while ago & ppl thought dups were alright occasionally - this may have changed? Perhaps we want it to change?)... But I don't recall intentionally nuking an artist header... Oopsie! Have trouble seeing the diff (on my mobile), I'll check it out when I get home.
- Thanks for the link 6 :)
- -Sean Colombo (talk|contribs) 16:44, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- I re-checked, just to make sure, and it says under Criteria: "Check to ensure that the song has not been Song Of The Day before." I'm not opposed to multiple noms (if a song is that popular, why not show it)… but in that case multiple date params for one badge might be better than multiple badges… — 6×9 (Talk) 16:57, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
Uploading Images
I'm getting a "Zero Sized Reply" error whenever I try to upload images. I did try two different images, so I assume it's a problem with all uploads (last file upload seems to be 3:47 this morning). --WillMak050389 00:03, 13 May 2009 (UTC)

Indestructible file?
When trying to delete File:David Sylvian - Gone To Earth (Remastered).jpg I get:Error deleting file: Could not create directory "deleted/r/l/v".
— 6×9 (Talk) 00:05, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
- It was a permissions problem on the directory where the "deleted" backup of the image was trying to go. I fixed it, but it looks like new directories are still being created without write-permission. Working on that...
- Thanks for the report!
- -Sean Colombo (talk|contribs) 00:37, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

- When I ran the script manually, it just worked... my assumption is that the server where he was running was down for a bit around the time he was supposed to run (SOTD isn't run from inside our datacenter... it's from somewhere else). So I don't think there were any problems with spacing or anything.

Eye-toons & Emerson questions
{{iTunes}} links via click.linksynergy.com, but {{ArtistFooter}} doesn't – it links directly to phobos.apple.com. Would the c.l.c link work for artists as well? (That would actually make things simpler, because we could call tl:iTunes from AF…)
And another thing… Red asked a while ago whether we should include an asin parameter in AF. Artists' links are different though in that they contain the artist name as well as an ASIN. So: (1) should we bother in the first place, and if yes, (2) is there a special link that would make us money from those as well, like with {{asin}}? — 6×9 (Talk) 18:10, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Good catch on the iTunes thing... the link in ArtistFooter actually doesn't point to our account at all, so replacing it with {{iTunes}} would be better for us anyway.
- For the Amazon link, it does look like the specially formatted artist/asin link would be cool since it gives a page that is directly targeted to the specific artist and has song previews and everything. Amazon is pretty l33t and if they think artist-specific pages are worth having, they're probably right :). There isn't a specific template for that yet, but as long as we put "tag=lyricwiki-20" on the end of the URL, it should work. Like this: http://www.amazon.com/Nirvana/e/B000APW4NG?tag=lyricwiki-20 (The "lyricwiki-20" is new, just added that since the Motive Force tag may be confusing? They're both do the exact same thing so it doesn't matter which one is used.)
- -Sean Colombo (talk|contribs) 20:11, 10 May 2009 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks! I'll also fix the Akuma link in ArtistFooter so it'll only need the ID, not the full URL (like in SongFooter). Speaking of Akuma, you don't suppose they could produce a list of all artist URLs that have become invalid (Van Morrison etc.), so ÜB can remove or update them…? — 6×9 (Talk) 00:42, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
