- Faaip de Oiad means 'Voice of God' in Enochian.
- The voice is sampled from a recording of a phone call to paranormal-themed radio host Art Bell during a show about Area 51. The panicked caller claimed to be a former employee of Area 51 who believed that "aliens" were actually "extradimensional beings" who were planning to infiltrate and control the military and government. The call ended abruptly when the station's radio transmitter went off line. Supposedly the same caller called back some time later to report that he had done it as a hoax (whether the transmitter going down was also part of the hoax is uncertain).
- Rosetta Stoned on Tool's subsequent album 10,000 Days could be considered a sequel, (or rather prequel) to Faaip De Oiad. The two songs cover very similar themes about Aliens and Area 51, and the narrator of Rosetta Stoned could be based on the character of the caller in Faaip De Oiad.
