This song is performed by Tom Milsom.

I was pretty unsatisfied with the home recordings of Animals and About Our Universe, and I began to experiment. This and Wintersong are both early (and pretty out there) home recordings of what would eventually become very different tracks on Painfully Mainstream.

Summer’s turning out to be too hot,
For going except in shade.

Now the sun is rising everyday,
And I hate how it just stays that way,
The nights are too short these days.

Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba
Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba

I keep on thinking how mankind
Will shrivel up and burn and die
If we were fired into the sun.

The noise cuts off my head some days,
I wish that I was dead in ways,
I’m better now, I’m only one.

And that’s how life has got to be,
I need to get used to it
Six billion people think that me
Is more important than the rest,
And that’s just how it’s meant to be,
There’s people living who aren’t me.
