KhelpcenterBig genre change. We're still in 2008, or possibly early 2009 [Thu 10 Jul 2008], and I'm still looking for a way to record my second album at home. This was a different tack, inspired by the MIDI sounds on a lot of early They Might Be Giants recordings, and Logan Whitehurst's work, which I was hugely into at the time, and basically ripped off massively. This song is about tyranny and propaganda!
If people just dropped dead
By thinking of what’s in our head
The people who have learned the most
Would be the soonest to be toast,

And the happy people, left behind
Don’t seem to mind what’s on their mind
Repopulating humankind
Enjoying being free.

No-one left will question answers,
The paradoxical brain cancer
took your friends and family away.

And now the world’s a mystery,
But everyone can clearly see
Without the science getting in the way,
The world looks beautiful today.

If people wonder why
Then they deserve to die
Don’t question what you see
Don’t move independently.
