About Templates

• Parameters should be changed prior to saving the page.
• Parameters may appear on a single line or multiple lines, but parameters must be preceded by a | (pipe).
• Do not change the part {{ArtistFooter. This is required by the software to know which template to use.

Parameters

• Except for fLetter, all parameters are optional.

|fLetter =

Required. Adds the artist to a Category:Artists $ category.

The following guidelines apply to the fLetter entry:

• The first letter should always be used, even if the artist name starts with "The", "A" or "An" (or their equivalents in other languages).
• If the first letter is a number, then use: fLetter=0-9
• If the first letter is a symbol (like ";", "(", "-", "*", or "$"), then use: fLetter=Symbol
• If the first letter is a character from a non-Latin writing system that uses symbols for entire words (Chinese, Japanese & Korean), then the fLetter is the language of the character. For example: fLetter=Chinese
• If the first letter is a character in a non-Latin alphabet such as Cyrillic, Greek, etc., or is an "accented" character such as Á, Ö, or Ç, use the true fLetter character, not fLetter=Symbol

If you find an artist page on iTunes via the iTunes Link Maker, you can put a link here by adding the artist's iTunes ID. Example: http://itunes.apple.com/artist/some-name/id12345?uo=6 (use only the part in bold).

To link to another country's iTunes store, append the country code (marked red in the following example) like this:

|allmusic =

Produces a link to the artist's allmusic page.

|musicbrainz =

Allows MusicBrainz page to be chosen.
