Just listened to the song, and the lyrics are complete and accurate. -- 21:01, 22 June 2009

This has to be the most widely-repeated misheard lyric on the internet. He sings "Mirrors on the ceiling DEPICT champagne on ice". Change it, please! — The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.77.115.8 (talkcontribs).

Nope, "the pink champagne" is correct. It was printed that way on the LP sleeve. — 6×9 (Talk) 16:34, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Pink Champagne = Amphetamine..Mirrors..Well I'm sure you can make the connection...  Яєdxx Actions Words 17:44, 22 June 2009 (UTC)
Amphetamine on ice? Dunno… Of course, there's also that story Frank Zappa once told, about a famous rock star, a bottle of Champagne and a menstruating groupie, but I'm sure you didn't want to know about that ;-) — 6×9 (Talk) 18:06, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Source? I mean: have you seen them, or is just another thing that gets circulated on the internet?

And even if they are printed that way, it's dubious evidence. Those are often written up by people at the production company rather than the band themselves.

Because, seriously, if he's singing "the pink champagne", then (1) his lyrics are stupid, and (2) He's picked up a mysterious Spanish accent for the duration of one syllable, making him pronounce his "th" like "d". No native English speaker would do that.

This should answer your first question. While I agree that the "The" is pronounced weirdly, I'm fairly certain it's not "Depict" either – the "ct" sound should be clearly audible before the "ch", but it isn't. — 6×9 (Talk) 09:02, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
