I think it could be a reference to the show Lost. The character Hurley is seen talking to other characters who have died, but he thinks they're all just illusions at first(They're just living in my head), and the title is one of the numbers that is continually repeated throughout the show (4 8 15 16 23 42). I did not know that. Also, though the first track on Parachutes is Don't Panic which is printed in "Large, friendly letters" on the cover of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
