Now, gather round, you merry men
Listen to our story, please
We'll tell of a man named Silas Pugh
Who sailed the Seven Seas.
Now this old sea dog of ill repute
He sailed from North to South
With an old cloth cap upon his head
and a clay pipe in his mouth!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
but nothing did frighten old Silas Pugh!
Now his hair was grey,
and his beard was long,
and his only tooth was green,
He had a patch on his eye,
and a wooden leg,
and a hook where his had had been.
He lost his ear to a hungry shark,
He lost his sense of smell,
so hence, he never had a bath,
so he lost his friends as well!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
but nothing did frighten old Silas Pugh!
His ship was called the Moby Dick,
It was made from the belly of a whale.
They floated all around the world,
'cause they couldn't use the sail!
The crew, they were a faithful lot.
By God, you should have seen 'em.
Their IQ was 75,
and that was all between 'em!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
but nothing did frighten old Silas Pugh!
The ship was in an awful mess,
It could drive a man to tears.
When Silas, he lay down the plank,
He had 6 volunteers!
They were once attacked by a pirate ship,
when it sneaked up from behind,
but when they saw his Moby 'Dick' - ha ha!,
they quickly changed their minds!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
but nothing did frighten old Silas Pugh!
They landed on a sandy beach,
a treasure map and all.
Silas said 'X marks the place,
a bit like Spot the Ball!
10 paces left, 10 paces right,
a hop, a jump, a skip.
around the tree, and up the hill,
they were back on the ship!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
but nothing did frighten old Silas Pugh!
The crew, they were a bit annoyed,
with their captain's style.
So they flogged him to some cannibals,
that lived upon the isle.
They lick their lips, they rubbed their tums,
thanks to that wicked crew.
Silas's life had gone to pot.
He was in a stew!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
and up to his neck sat Silas Pugh!
They bathed him in that salty broth,
he cooked from head to toe.
But when they got a taste of him,
they quickly let him go!
he staggered bravely cross the beach,
and then, just to his pleasure,
he stumbled on a heavy box.
Twas full if hidden treasure!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
and back to the ship went Silas Pugh!
He dragged himself up on the deck,
The crew all sat there, smoking.
They were quite glad to see him back,
'cause they were only joking!
And the sea did toss,
and the wind, it blew,
but nothing did frighten old Silas Pugh!
The bravest man, so say the crew.
and that is the tale of Silas Pugh!
