Song of the Day
"Don't Look Around" opens Mountain's second album, Nantucket Sleighride, with a bang reminiscent of hard rock numbers like "Mississippi Queen" and "Silver Paper" from 1970's Climbing!. Running just shy of four minutes, it's definitely got the Mountain sound to it. (Nantucket sleighride was a term used by Nantucket whalers.)

Album of the Week
Blackbird is one of my favorite albums of all time. Each track is unique, expresses each band member's talent, and has deep and meaningful lyrics. Songs such as "Blackbird", "Rise Today", and "Watch Over You" show Mark Tremonti's amazing skills in guitar playing and Myles Kennedy's amazing vocal talent.

Free Music of the Week
I'm not a big fan of country music, but I do enjoy the occasional song or two. The Hollyfelds know how to do it right and make it available for free. I am impressed by the quality of the performance here. The Hollyfelds have released two albums, and made available six of their songs on their website for free download including "What It Feels Like", "I'm Gonna Feel Tonight", "It's a Good Thing", and "Stars at Night". My personal favorite recently has been "2 A.M.".
I'm also going to give a shout-out to Five Iron Frenzy (a related artist), unfortunately no free downloads from them, but one of my personal favorites of all time. If you enjoy ska, stop everything you're doing right now and go get one of their albums.

» Wikia
LyricWiki in the old sense of the word has shut down. However, the entire contents has been contributed to this new wiki which is run by Wikia. Wikia has a licensing deal with music publishers, so the project will be able to survive and thrive!
Read more about these changes in The Announcement.
Unfortunately, licensing agreements with the biggest publishers in the music industry require us to no longer offer the ability for programmatic access to LyricWiki's collection of lyrics.
We tried to arrange some way to let API Developers license through us, but this was not possible.
While this is not something we are happy about, it is a necessity in order to finally secure licensing for LyricWiki from the major publishers which will allow the project to survive indefinitely.
For more info, please see the letter to API Developers

Thanks to the concentrated efforts of all the editors who took this project on board, there are now just 55 songs needing language identification. So how's about we give it our best shot over the next few weeks to reduce this figure to zero?
For the benefit of all our new editors, here's what needs doing: the language of the lyrics of all the songs found in the above category need to be identified and entered in the language parameter of the SongFooter (N.B. using the English language name).
Happy editing!
