November 28, 2011: Paper Wings by Rise Against
- Nominated by MilesPrower32.
- Paper Wings is a brilliant song. The lyrics are deep. The melody is fitting, and slightly aggressive. But wait! Later on, it switches to a more... acoustic bridge. Then back again. The style change fits well. It's arguably the band's greatest accomplishment in their 10 years of music. It may not be popular like Savior, but it should be. It's an amazing song from start to finish.

November 23, 2011: Everybody Knows by Concrete Blonde
- Nominated by Broken Dream.
- Cover versions are always a risky business. If you're just going to copy the original then what was the point? You have to stamp your own identity on it. In this case Johnette Napolitano's bitter and ironic vocals actually make this superior to the rather dryer Leonard Cohen original.

November 12, 2011: New Pain by Static-X
- Nominated by 68.41.250.104.
- Static-X is one of my favorite bands in all the universes in the universe, their music is full of raw power and 'crunch.' New Pain is arguably the best song from Shadow Zone (2003), and it paints a picture in my mind that I know all too well, plus how could you not love a band whose lead singer has a hair style this awesome?!

November 11, 2011: The Ballad Of The Green Berets by Barry Sadler
- Nominated by Cubs Fan.
- One of the few songs from the 1960s to cast the military in a positive light, it quickly became a #1 hit for Barry Sadler. Supported by a militaristic drum beat, I think it's a perfect way to honor our veterans today.

November 09, 2011: Berlin by Ideal
- Nominated by Kopf101.
- I have nominated this song in honour of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Written in 1980 it tells the story of a fare dodger who jumps off a train and then makes her way through the town. The lyrics create an honest and very detailed picture of the 1980s Berlin and the people who lived (and still live) there.
The song was the opening track on the debut album of band Ideal, and it is considered one of the cornerstones of the "New German Wave" movement. Lead singer Annette Humpe went on to become one of Germany's most successful songwriters and record producers.

November 05, 2011: Sinful by Marina & The Diamonds
- Nominated by 92.236.37.204.
- I nominate this song, because I believe Marina and the Diamonds is actually a great artist. She and all her songs are so underrated; people just don't understand talent when they hear it, because they only like a specific genre. This can appeal to all types, in my opinion.
