February 29, 2012: Murmaider II: The Water God by Dethklok
- Nominated by 108.20.186.138.
- I don't care if their lyrics are silly, it's just as metal as any other metal band. Their sounds is fantastic. Give this humorous and lighthearted adaptation of metal a chance.

February 28, 2012: Blue On Black by Kenny Wayne Shepherd
- Nominated by Cubs Fan.
- I first discovered Kenny Wayne through the classic rock radio station in my area, and I've come to really like this specific song. It's hard to believe it's fifteen years old, but it's great blues-rock.

February 27, 2012: The Hounds Of Anubis by The Word Alive
- Nominated by JonnyCraigIsAmazing.
- The Word Alive takes the whole metalcore genre and puts a new spin on it. They have only released 1 EP and 1 full length and have gained a fairly large fan base. This song, in fact, is about the band's support from their fans. Telle is also speaking out to the people who are against his band. He is adressing both sides of it, and with some great screams and singing. The two guitarists share the solo in this song and do a great job at it I must say.

February 26, 2012: Hey Baby by Ted Nugent
- Nominated by Cubs Fan.
- The only song from Ted Nugent's solo debut album that the Nuge didn't write himself, it established lead vocalist Derek St. Holmes as a credible songwriter. With Derek's boogying rhythm fused with Terrible Ted's lead Byrdland guitar, it remains a popular staple of Ted's catalog.

February 22, 2012: Enchanted by Taylor Swift
- Nominated by ---Tsu'tey♫.
- I love this song, and it's definitely my favorite song performed by Taylor Swift. The song really comes from the heart and reminds me of the time I first met my girlfriend; it was like nothing I had ever experienced before, and I was enchanted to meet her. The song is beautiful, and I'd really like more people to hear it, so it can become more popular among fans of the singer and music fans in general. She speaks from the heart, as she does with all of her songs, but this one just really speaks to me. A beautiful meaning for a beautiful song, there is no way to make the song better, and that is why I nominate this song as the Lyric Wiki's song of the day.

February 21, 2012: Santa Monica by Theory Of A Deadman
- Nominated by 159.53.78.142.
- This is one of the greatest hits of the band Theory Of a Deadman. The song is written from the point of view of a guy who gets home from work and reads a note from his girlfriend telling him that she has left him and went to Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, to try and lead a better life. In the song, the guy is looking back on the event and seems to be referring to it in the past tense: "I remember the day when you left for Santa Monica." The video plays with the ambiguity between Santa Monica Blvd and the city of Santa Monica, but it's pretty clear it's the street in LA, known for prostitution, that is intended. The song has no relation to the mid '90s Everclear song of the same name.

February 19, 2012: Stranglehold by Cross Canadian Ragweed
- Nominated by Cubs Fan.
- I'd never heard of Cross Canadian Ragweed before, but after finding this video on YouTube, it's becoming a favorite cover of the Ted Nugent song. It's more compact than Uncle Ted's version, but it rocks just as hard.

February 18, 2012: Girl Disappearing by Tori Amos
- Nominated by 24.210.47.149.
- It shows how vulnerable a woman facing various situations: the media, and strong criticism from many unknowns resorts to her own safety net or "secret prison" if you will. I often think or see this, nowadays in the frail teens of our society that just can't hang onto society's rules for them...and then the women (or adult form) is exposed and you can see this in her as well. What a struggle we women face in our present day lives... as if some of us are reaching a "disappearing."

February 06, 2012: White Punks On Dope by The Tubes
- Nominated by Cubs Fan.
- Ending the Tubes' debut album, it displays more of a punk rock influence than their later new wave hits like "She's a Beauty". Clocking in at almost seven minutes, and at almost nine when played live, it's some good '70s rock and roll.

February 02, 2012: The Mob Rules by Black Sabbath
- Nominated by Cubs Fan.
- Segueing out from "E5150", it remains, to me, one of the great Black Sabbath songs from the Ronnie James Dio era. The driving guitar hook, combined with Geezer Butler's running bass line and Ronnie's imaginative lyrics, make it a must-listen for heavy metal fans.
