I've never been a big glam rock fan before, but this song by Def Leppard has certainly piqued my interest. GoEar Audio on GoEar

A great song with a nice beat, and the sound of the instruments blend well with the voice of vocalist Hayley Williams. Many will listen to this time and time again. A song with a catchy beat, reminiscent of Irish or Scottish native music, and a risqué subject, it has no choice BUT to be a song close to our hearts. To find your high school sweetheart in the center of Playboy is both a nightmare and wet dream. Truly a song that won't make your "blood run cold." This is the best song off the album United Abominations it has amazing riffs, an awesome solo and unbelievable vocals. This song can be immediately compared to "Holy Wars" the best song off of Rust In Peace, and probably one of Megadeth's best. That and "Hangar 18". GoEar Audio on GoEar

On Febuary 8th, 2009, Blink-182 announced their reunion on the 51st Grammy Awards. "Not Now" was their last single before going on an "indefinite hiatus" for four long years. This song was about death, but to fans meant the death of Blink-182. Here's to the revival! GoEar Audio on GoEar
Featuring one of the most recognizable bass riffs in pop music, this was one of the SDG's biggest hits, reaching #2 in the UK and #7 in the US. A very beautiful, moving and comforting song, whatever your personal belief system may be, from DCFC's 2005 album Plans. I also find it interesting how the song was recorded. While in the studio, tracking the vocals for a different song for the album, technical issues arose. Producer (and guitarist) Chris Walla told frontman Ben Gibbard to take a break while these were being resolved. Gibbard picked up his guitar and started playing "I Will Follow You into the Dark". Gibbard's playing was still going through the microphone.Walla was so impressed by the sound that he suggested they do a quick tracking of the performance. It was this mono recording that appears on the album, with only minor editing. GoEar Audio on GoEar

One of Rainbow's quieter numbers, it demonstrates Ronnie James Dio's amazing vocal range. There's nothing that stands out more than anything else, but it's a rich six and a half minutes of music. YouTube Music video on YouTube

This is a beautiful song and a reminder that Jesus is always with us. The lyrics are powerful and encouraging, but there isn't a line in the song that doesn't hit home for somebody, somewhere. The first time I heard it, I simply thought it was pretty. The second time I heard it, I listened hard to the lyrics and realized they were singing about me. Frequently overshadowed by Eric Clapton's more famous cover version, this remains one of J.J. Cale's most popular hits. It's a bit more boogie-woogie than Clapton's version, but that's what makes it enjoyable. GoEar Audio on GoEar
This is a good song to honor the late Layne Staley. This could be just a small honor for him by having the Song of the Day. Even though he has achieved so much more, I still think that it would be nice to honor him in this way. GoEar Audio on GoEar

Eminem left the rap scene with his song "When I'm Gone" and his Greatest Hits album Curtain Call. It's been announced that he will be releasing his first music video in about four years called "We Made You" on April 7. So to prepare for this song, I think "Like Toy Soldiers" should be the song of the day just so people remember why he is one of the best rappers ever.YouTube Music video on YouTube
One of the Eagles' four #1 singles, this is probably their most recognizable song. It deservedly won the 1978 Grammy Award for Record of the Year, and it remains a staple of classic rock radio. GoEar Audio on GoEar
I'm not a big hip-hop fan, but I really like this take on the Aerosmith classic. Aerosmith really only contributes to the "Walk This Way" chorus, but Run-D.M.C. takes the song and really turns it on its head. GoEar Audio on GoEar
Recognizable to baseball fans as the official Boston Red Sox anthem, it's one of two Dropkick Murphys songs I'm really beginning to get into. It's not as punk-sounding as "I'm Shipping Up to Boston", but that's kind of why I like it. YouTube Music video on YouTube
