[edit] Stubs

Can someone please explain why this page has a stub template placed on it? It hardly seems appropriate, i.e. "If this is a song..etc"  ♫Яєdxx Actions Words 10:21, 17 September 2008 (EDT)

It has been there since the page was created two years ago. I just put a message on that editor's Talk Page.

I don't remember exactly why I marked this as a stub. Probably because I was rather new here and the page was short.

[edit] Question

If another artist released a song in another language, it should be marked as Multiple Language? Bronzelle 14:17, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
No. I believe what is meant here, and what this is intended for, is when the same artist releases a song in different languages. If another artist covers a song in their own language then it is just a cover. As such the language parameter in Songfooter should simply be whatever language the artist sings the song in..  ♫Яєdxx Actions Words 16:31, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Multiple titles for different language versions of same song

As far as I can tell, the Multiple Languages template allows you only to link to Original Song Name with different language codes appended. What exactly does one do when an artist releases two different versions of the same song, in different languages, and with different titles—especially where neither can be seen as the ‘original’? The example I have in mind right now is múm’s duo of albums Loksins erum við Engin and Finally We Are No One. They are basically an Icelandic and an English version of the same album: the songs have the same titles (but translated) and the lyrics are approximated translations, as well. They were both released on the same day.

How should I link these individual songs and the albums as a whole to each other?

(Please excuse if this is a doodad noob question—I am rather new to LyricWiki.) --Oisín 18:42, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

You can place a redirect at the location with the language code (i.e. Artist:Song/es) to redirect to the correct song. Right now there is not a way to specify to the template the name of the target page directly.

[edit] Multiple language lyric

what should i do if the song contains some phrases in one language and other in the next, and that way? Tomoyo 22:16, September 4, 2009 (UTC)

If the singer switches between two different languages while performing a song, both languages should be entered in the SongFooter in alphabetical order, separated by a hyphen, e.g. English-German, German-Russian.  Яєdxx Actions Words 22:34, September 6, 2009 (UTC)
