The group was formed on a reality television show, Popstars: The Rivals. They have since had 20 top ten singles, four of which went to number 1 on the UK Charts, and were given the title 'Most Successful Reality TV Group' in the 2007 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. They also hold the record for 'Most Top 10 Singles By A Girl Group' in the United Kingdom. Their "signature" songs include "Sound Of The Underground", "Love Machine", "Biology", and "Something Kinda Ooooh". Girls Aloud released their fourth studio album Tangled Up in 2007, which features the singles "Sexy! No No No","Call the Shots" and "Can't Speak French". They released their fifth studio album "Out of Control" on the 3rd November 2008. The album's lead single "The Promise" was released for digital download on the 19th October 2008. Both the album and the single debuted at number 1 on the UK charts, giving Girls Aloud their first number 1 studio album and their fourth number 1 single.
